Harold Heath, 79, of Smithfield, died January 7, 2011. After a courageous battle with cancer, Harold is at peace.
Harold was valedictorian for the class of 1949 at Green River High School. He then served two years in the United States Marine Corp, and also served 17 years in the National Guard. Harold earned a degree in Electronics at the University of Utah. He was a radar technician at Hill Air Force Base for 24 years where he worked on first article equipment for engineering. After retiring from this career, he went on to work at Icon Health and Fitness as an electronic technician for 13 years. He was our familyâ€™s â€œenergizer bunny,â€ and always stayed busy.
Harold was a man of great character. His quiet strength, tenacity, and spunk inspired all who knew him. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Terry Heath; his children: Larry, Terry, Mary, Gary, and Sherry; and step-children: David Shingleton, Cecelia Doty, Sally McCartney, Tamra Hallmark, Dawn Carrigan, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on January 14 at 9:30 a.m. at the LDS 17th Ward Chapel, located at 345 East 300 South, in Smithfield, Utah. The funeral service will follow the viewing at 11 a.m. at the same location. A graveside service will be held in the Salt Lake City Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. located at 200 â€œNâ€ Street in Salt Lake City. Condolences may be sent to the family at Allen Mortuaries.
