LOGAN, UTAH: Gregory Jay Rogers, 65, of Logan, died June 15, 2011 in Logan. He was born on May 5, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah a son of Denton and Jessie Bradford Rogers. He married Rebecca Feldt. They were later divorced.
Gregory graduated from Skyline High School in Salt Lake City. He served in the United States Marine Corp. during the Vietnam Conflict for eight years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he had served as scoutmaster, ward clerk, sunday school counselor, a missionary to Scotland. He worked at the Granite School Dist and for Intermountain Healthcare.
He loved to speak and was a beautiful singer. He made the Deans list at the LDS Business College.
He is survived by his children, William Denton Rogers, Michelle Ruth Davis, Gregory J. Rogers Jr., James Howard Rogers, granddaughters, Mikayla, Alysa and Marianna Davis, two brothers, Alan Denton and Terry Rogers, a sister, Janet Rich. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jean Haight.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 am in the Smithfield 5th Ward chapel, 625 East 600 South. There will be a viewing Monday from 9:30 – 10:30 am. Interment will be in the Smithfield City Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion and the Marine Corp. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at Allen Mortuaries.
