Elaine Montrose, age 90, passed away March 20, 2011 in Logan, Utah. She was born Feb. 24, 1921 to George Clayne and Florence Andrews Curtis in Logan, UT. In 1944 she married our father and the love of her life Paul R. Montrose. They were married for 67 years prior to her passing. She attended the LDS Business College and worked at the Walker Bank and Fort Douglas before starting her family.
In 1957. she and her husband moved their family to Santa Clara, Calif. where Paul worked for IBM until their retirement in 1983 at which time they returned to Logan. She loved being a mother and homemaker. She was well known for her lemon pies and flaky crust as well as being the consummate hostess for her guests.
She enjoyed painting and was a wonderful artist. She enjoyed planting and caring for her wonderful flower beds and yard. She enjoyed going on drives to Carmel and Monterey when she lived in California. She also enjoyed many years of service in several organizations of the LDS Church and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
Survived by her husband, Paul Roberts Montrose and her son, Richard (Rick) Montrose (and wife Gloria). There are 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son David Curtis Montrose (1989) and grandson Ricky L. Montrose (1983).
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, March 24th at the Lundstrom Park 1st Ward at 1260 N. 1600 East, Logan, UT. Friends may call from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to the services. Interment will be at Logan Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at Allen Mortuaries.
