Carlie Wall to Perform Friday August 28, 2015
At Town Square Park, St. George
Local singing sensation Carlie Wall to perform exclusive acoustic set Friday evening at Sunset on the Square.
St. George, UT – The Sunset on the Square (SOTS) team is proud to announce an exclusive Carlie Wall solo concert event this Friday. Carlie will play on the Brad Harr Stage from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. Wall will be available for autographs and photos as well, and is very excited to be back on stage at Sunset on the Square.
Before the concert, attendees can join in in welcoming Breaking the Cycles Carol and Bob Hollowell as they stop by Sunset on the Square to share their success in their nationwide cycling trek to raise awareness for the homeless and hungry across our nation. Carol will arrive between 6:00 and 6:30, attendees are encouraged to come early to enjoy the fun and be sure to get the best seats in the house – we are expecting large crowds for Carol and for Carlie.
A true local’s favorite, by the time she was fifteen, singer Carlie Wall was already a seasoned professional. With dozens of live performances—both as a solo artist as well as with her full band—Carlie was as comfortable in front of thousands of audience members or singing in front of a video camera. Video is Walls creative strategy when writing songs, one that allows her to post, share and get feedback in real time. Says Wall, “I am so blessed to have so many fans, and see them follow my YouTube page and career, the videos are a great way to show folks what I am working on.”
For Carlie, songwriting came naturally. Now 19 and after a brief hiatus, with just four years in the business Wall has already won numerous accolades for her music including the Vernal Colgate Country Showdown for Utah and winning two years in a row at SUSWA’s Open-Mic competition. She was selected for “Best Of” in 2009 by the Southern Utah Song Writers of America with her song Glass Wall. In addition, Carlie appeared on local radio stations including The Hawk, (95.9) and has been heard by thousands with her catchy radio ad she sung for the Dixie Direct savings book. In 2010, Carlie shared the Tuacahn stage with Nathan Osmond as the duo sang the powerful Christmas song, “The Prayer” during Osmond’s special “Christmas in the Canyon.”
Having taught herself to play the guitar at ten years of age, Carlie created unique sounds on the instrument, one of the hallmarks of her song-writing style. But it was her mature lyrics that captured the attention of listeners. Her songs, Someday, Angels for Granted, and Thanks to You are touching tributes to those who have fought for our country. More beat-driven songs include Waiting, Closure and Glass Wall as well as her title track to her first album, Safe To Fall.
Recently, Carlie performed with her band in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the Springdale Music Festival, and has scheduled other performances beyond Sunset on the Square. Additional scheduled performances include SUU in September as well as Jazzy Java and the St. George Book Festival in October. The band will also be performing at a charitable fund raiser for BACA, (Bikers Against Child Abuse) on October 30th in Hurricane.
Blending the soul of rock with the emotional tug at the heartstrings of country, Carlie Wall’s music has a very wide fan-base. TMC at New Artist Radio branded Carlie as, “Grounded in her talent making her unstoppable. Carlie is the full package.” “This is a performance our community will not want to miss.” said Dawn McLain, Event Coordinator, “Carlie is a wonderful singer, and this is a great gift to our community. As we close out this season on Friday, I know Carlie will have the crowd screaming Encore, Encore!”
